Braces at The Kensington Orthodontic Clinic

We offer a range of braces in our Kensington and Hounslow clinics. Our specialist orthodontists can advise you on which type is best for you, but here’s a brief overview of each one.

Fast Align braces
(six month braces)

Treatment time: from just 4-6 months

Our Fast Align braces (also known as Six Month braces) straighten teeth in as little as four months – perfect for soon-to-be brides and grooms, and anyone else looking to have straight teeth and a flawless smile by a certain date.

With Fast Align braces, brackets are only attached to your front teeth (those that are most visible when you smile). By shifting and realigning these teeth, your smile is suddenly symmetrical, balanced and beautiful.

Lingual braces

Treatment time: from just 9 months

Lingual braces are the ultimate discreet orthodontic treatment option. They look just like regular metal braces but are fitted on the inside of your teeth, keeping them totally hidden from view. They use custom-made and custom-fitted brackets which are smaller than those used in conventional braces, ensuring a comfortable fit.

The great thing about lingual braces, apart from being completely hidden of course, is they can be used to treat more severe cases as well.

Lingual braces

Advantages of
lingual braces

  • Totally hidden from view
  • Extremely effective for minor and severe cases
  • No lip or cheek irritation
  • Suitable for athletes and occasionally even musicians
  • Constantly working to straighten your teeth

Clear braces

Treatment time: from just 9 months

Ceramic braces give you all the advantages of traditional metal braces without being as obvious to everybody that you’re wearing them. They work in the same way as normal braces, by using brackets and archwires to create a system of tension that pulls teeth slowly back into proper alignment. However, the big difference with ceramic braces is they are made with clear, white or tooth-coloured materials.

What makes our ceramic braces even more special here at The Kensington Orthodontic Clinic is that we use white wires so our clear braces are even clearer.

Clear braces

Advantages of
clear braces

  • Incredibly discreet with the combination of ceramic brackets and white wires
  • Fewer limitations so can handle more severe and difficult cases
  • Fast and effective compared to other types of braces
  • Budget-friendly with no expensive lab costs

Damon braces

Treatment time: from just 7 months

Self-ligating Damon braces straighten your teeth without any elastic bands or ties. Using smaller brackets, ‘shape memory’ wires and finer materials, Damon braces use natural motion to gently pull teeth into proper alignment. Their high-tech mechanism causes movement to be almost frictionless, which allows for faster results and less discomfort.

The Damon brand also has an excellent system of clear brackets, known as Damon Clear braces, which allows for more discreet treatment.

Damon braces

Advantages of
Damon braces

  • More effective than ceramic and traditional braces
  • Can fix all kinds of orthodontic issues, including gaps, crowding and crooked teeth
  • Very discreet and comfortable to wear
  • Technologically advanced system produces faster results
  • Fewer appointments

Easy aligner

The Easy Aligner is a removable appliance designed to straighten and move teeth to a desired position. It may be used as a treatment in itself or as a way to prepare teeth for treatment with other orthodontic methods, such as bonding or veneers.

The aligner works by applying pressure to the back of the teeth with a lingual coil spring. Another wire is placed across the front teeth to apply pressure from the opposite direction. These wires work together to essentially push the teeth into proper alignment.

This Easy Aligner is a type of ‘Fast Align Brace’ and is therefore only designed to be used to treat the front top and bottom teeth. If a full-mouth treatment is required, a different orthodontic treatment option would be chosen – one which includes the full arches (all the teeth, front and back).

Easy aligner

Advantages of
Easy Aligner

  • The Easy Aligner can straighten teeth in as little as four months
  • Can be removed for special occasions, and to make eating and cleaning teeth easy
  • It’s convenient – you only need to wear one aligner for 20 hours a day to get results
  • Only one metal bar is visible in front of the teeth so it’s a relatively discreet treatment option
  • It’s the most budget-friendly treatment option available

Metal braces

Treatment time: from just 9 months

Traditional fixed metal braces are the most common method of orthodontic treatment and can be used to treat a wide variety of dental problems, including teeth that are crooked or misaligned, teeth that are overcrowded, large gaps between teeth and teeth which are rotated or protrusive.

They consist of metal brackets that are attached to the teeth and which are connected by a wire. The braces put pressure on the teeth to gently correct their position. As the position of your teeth changes, the archwire is replaced with an increasingly sturdier one to make sure the correction is as long-lasting as possible.

  • Are extremely effective and produce results very quickly
  • Are budget-friendly
